Tools That Do the Work for You
GLX Tools is Gordon Lehmann's workshop. This is where he develops Windows programs, Firefox add-ons, Nextcloud apps, and WordPress plugins that were created out of personal necessity: either because the right tool didn't exist, or because the existing one was too cumbersome.
You can try out everything here at your leisure before buying. The download is free, and every program runs fully for seven days—no account required, no payment information needed, and no time pressure.
There are also programs that I offer here for free.
GLX Installer Builder
Your program will become a full-fledged setup—without a single line of script.
Anyone who wants to share a Windows program soon faces the same question: How do I get it to the user? A folder full of files to unzip just doesn't look finished. The standard installer kits, on the other hand, require you to first learn their scripting language or pay for very expensive software.
The GLX Installer Builder takes a different approach. You configure everything using input fields, color pickers, and file selection dialogs, and see the result right next to it. When you're done, you click a button, and it generates a standalone Setup.exe file that you can distribute as a full-fledged installer.
What Makes Him Who He Is
Nothing is hard-coded. Every visible element is fully customizable—text, font, size, color, transparency, position, and backgrounds—and you can disable any element individually if you don't need it.
You put the process together yourself. The installer consists of the following pages: Language Selection, Welcome, License, Destination Folder, Progress, and Done. You decide which of these to include and in what order. Add a page, remove one, change the order—you can delete default pages, but that will require adjusting the button sequence.
— Done.
Live Preview. The actual installer runs on the right side of the settings window and uses the same configuration. Any changes appear immediately. You're not seeing a simulation, but exactly what the user will see later.
Projects are preserved. All settings can be saved as a glx file and opened again later. This allows you to maintain multiple installers simultaneously and continue working on a previous one instead of starting from scratch every time.
Multilingual. The generated installer can display its interface in up to three languages, with a language selection option at startup. To do this, simply configure all languages in the installer's text settings.
Try it out, then buy it
The download is free. You'll have access to the full range of features for seven days. After that, the program will still work—you'll still be able to access your projects and all your settings. The only feature that will be disabled is the ability to create the installer.
To activate the service, you'll receive a token upon purchase that you enter once. It will be stored in your account on this site so you can find it again after reinstalling the software.
